The Easton Criterium is an exciting event that offers cycling and running races on a fully enclosed course. Downtown Easton is transformed into a race course with six turns, which makes it a challenging course where skill will make all the difference. For this project, I explored Gelli plate printmaking to achieve a distressed and grunge look for the posters and additional designs.

Poster Design & Process
Gelli plate printing is a form of monoprinting that uses a soft gel-like printing plate to create layered textures, patterns, and images on paper or fabric. When used with photos, Gelli plate printing often combines image transfer techniques with layered paint printing. I started this project by selecting my favorite photos, converting them to black and white, and then transferring them to the Gelli plate to achieve this distressed effect.
